Lindsay Thompson, PhD, (Classics, Johns Hopkins University) is an Associate Professor with joint appointments at the Carey Business School and the Bloomberg School of Public Health at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.  Her research and teaching interests center on values, leadership, and social change in business, society, and organizational culture.  She is currently involved in research initiatives examining: 1) The livability of cities and role of business in shaping public discourse and the formation of civic conscience; and 2) The moral health of people in financially distressed, risk-laden, and hypercompetitive environments. As the Carey Business School faculty director and student advisor for business ethics and social enterprise, Lindsay is also actively involved in ongoing development of faculty, curriculum, and student learning.

Lindsay's managerial experience includes technical, leadership, and consulting roles in health planning and policy, health care, higher education, state government, small business, social enterprise, faith communities, and international NGOs. 

Lindsay is an active member of several academic societies and regularly presents her work in academic business ethics venues, including the Society for Business Ethics, the International Society for Business Economics and Ethics, and the American Academy of Management.  She has served on SBE committees and currently serves on the ISBEE Executive Committee following two years as Secretariat director and newsletter editor. 

Lindsay lives in a transitional neighborhood in Baltimore where she collaborates in citywide efforts to involve businesses, civic organizations, public officials, and private citizens in transforming distressed and abandoned city neighborhoods into attractive, thriving urban communities. She is a community leader involved in numerous entities including the Maryland Humanities Council, Johns Hopkins Urban Health Institute, Jewish Museum of Maryland, Archdiocese of Baltimore, Baltimore City Public Schools, Jonestown Planning Council, Albemarle Square Community Association, and Exeter Gardens.

Richard Milter, PhD, (Organizational Behavior, University at Albany, State University of New York) joined the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School in 2006 with expertise in the areas of management education and collaborative learning.  Rick is the faculty director of capstone programs at The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School; he has also served as interim chair of professional programs and director of MBA programs.  His personal management experiences include positions in the construction, retail, housing, and consulting industries.  He has held previous teaching and leadership positions at Ohio University, Boston College, Universiti Teknologi MARA (Shah Alam, Malaysia), the University at Albany, Loyola University of Chicago, and Janus Pannonius University (Pecs, Hungary).  

Rick serves on editorial boards of the Information Age Publishing series Research in Management Education and Development and the Springer Verlag Publishing series Innovation and Change in Professional Education.  He serves as Associate Series Editor of the Springer Science and Business series Advances in Business Education and Training. Rick’s research and publications have paralleled his consulting activity in the areas of executive judgment, strategy, group decision-making processes, management information systems, negotiation strategies, managerial ethics, leadership, and innovative learning platforms. 


Having formerly served as chairman of EDiNEB, an international network of innovative educators based in Maastricht, the Netherlands, Rick has delivered keynote addresses and seminar courses on decision making, leadership, business policy, organization development, creative thinking, and strategic management to audiences in the US, Malaysia, Sweden, and Hungary.  He has presented workshops to educators on innovative learning strategies across the U.S., Sweden, Hungary, the Netherlands, Russia, Singapore, Japan, and Malaysia.  He was co-founder and director of an MBA program that earned best practice status for technology-mediated learning by AACSB and APQC.

David Wilk, MS, (Real Estate) is National Chair of Corporate Services for SVN and CVA since 2010.  David is a management consultant who creates value for corporations, private equity firms, governments, universities, healthcare systems, and non-profits through real estate optimization strategies that generate new earnings, cost savings and economic development impact.  He also provides valuations on complex properties, market feasibility studies, “place-making” economic development strategies, and strategic marketing plans that reimagine underproductive real estate assets into innovative, new market drivers.   

David was formerly National Managing Director of Duff & Phelps Corporate Real Estate Advisory Group from 2008 through 2009 after they acquired Greystone Realty Advisors, a boutique advisory firm he founded in 1997.  From 1995 to 1997 Mr. Wilk was Regional Director of Corporate Real Estate Services for Ernst & Young LLP in the Middle Atlantic region.  From 1993 to 1995, David was Managing Director of the Real Estate Valuation Group for Arthur Andersen in Philadelphia after they acquired Wilk & Associates, Inc., a real estate consulting company he founded in 1987.  From 1977 to 1987, he held senior management positions with Valuation Research Corporation, Arthur D. Little, and was National Director of Valuation Services for Kenneth Leventhal & Co while living in California.
 
David was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Delaware Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics for 24 years (1989 to 2012) teaching Real Estate Finance (FINC 417), Real Estate Development & Investment (FINC 467), and MBA Real Estate Finance (FINC 854).  He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Delaware in 1976 and a Master of Science in Real Estate and Infrastructure from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. 
 
David is currently an Adjunct Faculty member at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and has developed Symposia on Real Estate Optimization and Place-Making Economic Development Strategies at the University of Delaware, University of Illinois, University of Washington, Salisbury University, Florida Atlantic University, and Delaware State University.  He also co-innovated a new real estate data analytics platform (“Corporate Real Estate Earnings Diagnostic”) with SAP and keynoted on RE Asset Optimization in April, 2015 at SAP’s National Real Estate Conference. 
 
David has over 35 years of real estate experience on commercial, industrial, residential, agricultural, and institutional real estate projects including having worked in 49 states in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, South America, the Caribbean, Asia, and the South Pacific.  He is a Counselor of Real Estate (CRE),  a Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) since 1985,  a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Delaware for over 25 years, and  a Certified General Appraiser in the States of Delaware, Florida, and Maryland.  He has qualified as an expert witness in numerous State and Federal courts in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, California, Hawaii, and New York.
